Helena – 1st Tuesday of every month at St. Peter’s Hospital Education Room, doors open at 6 p.m, group begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8.
SURVIVOR DAY
Helena's International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day falls on the third Saturday of November and will be held in the rotunda of the Montana State Capitol building. The event draws loss survivors for a day of healing, hope, and understanding. Activities include a resource fair, speakers, a luminary lighting, music and a showing of a documentary on suicide loss produced and provided by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention offers a wide array of resources for loss survivors, including tips on what to do following a suicide, lists of books for survivors, info on how to talk to children about loss, opportunities to connect with other survivors, along with guides for schools and employers.
The American Association of Suicidology has provided this informative handbook for anyone who has lost someone to suicide.
