With the help of a number of community partners, including the Montana VA, Breathe Let's Start a Conversation, the Awareness Network and HHS Together, the Coalition held its first International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day at the Montana State Capitol on Nov. 18. The event represented a day for survivors to gather, find resources and gain hope together.

To improve health literacy among youth and their parents, the East Helena Coalition partnered with the Lewis & Clark County Library and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Montana Chapter, to put on two education events in Helena and East Helena.

Suicide awareness event in East Helena: Walk helps heal a hurt (Helena IR)

April 28, 2017

Hoping to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health, the Coalition put on its first East Helena Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. The event drew nearly 800 people and raised more than $31,000. Funds will be used to fund national research, advocacy, and education while benefitting similar efforts locally.
