ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

Created in 2016, the East Helena Suicide Prevention & Awareness Coalition {EHSPAC], works to bring awareness and to rally the community in response to the crisis of suicides in our area. We are a group of local community members committed to suicide prevention, public awareness, education, evidence-based practices, and access to resources for anyone feeling hopeless. The EHSPAC seeks to be an advocate for action and a strong voice for change.

In addition to providing education for the community, EHSPAC puts on several events annually, including the East Helena Out of the Darkness Campus Walk in April, Suicide Prevention Week in September, a variety of offerings for Mental Health Month in May and the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, which is held in November (read more).

If you need to talk or are concerned about someone else, please call 1-800-273-TALK [8255] or text MT to 741-741 from anywhere in the USA, anytime, about any type of crisis. A live, trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds quickly. If someone is in immediate crisis, please dial 911.
